I'll Be Home for....A while :)

It has been a fun weekend with the fam :). I came home Wednesday night and got to go strait to WalMart and to pick up the kids from play practice. None of them knew I was coming that day because I came home a day early.  I walked in and all of them had to double take when they saw me. Lots of hugs :). After we got home, all traces of my earlier experience were gone.  I had another "panic attack" like I had the first day I moved up to flagstaff.  It wasn't as bad this time though,  because I knew what was happening I was able to keep myself in control.  I had the chance to call on the priesthood again and it still never ceases to amaze me. I texted my friend Ryan and told him that I needed a blessing.  He came with Cody and they drove me home (I was at school).  We searched for olive oil, finally found it, and I received a blessing. It was really amazing to me because I have never received a blessing from one of my friends before. I am just so glad that they are so worthy and willing to help me.  The next day I just woke up with a bad cold, all cramps, fevers, and everything else were gone.  I was truly blessed.  Thursday I drove Whitley to her Veteran's Day concert for choir and got to see all of my choir friends...so much fun! I left early and drove out to babysit for Amy's kids. The funniest thing happened.  I call out, "Where's Jarvis?" I hear from a room across the hall "In here!" I then call, "What are you doin'?" I hear "Cleaning up my poop." Those are words  nobody likes to hear. I walk into the bathroom and he is standing with his legs apart, picking up poop with toilet paper. That was fuuuuuun. Friday was a Psych/Work day; this means, I watched Psych while I worked! All day!  Saturday was a run errands and babysit the little ones while mom and dad were at the hospital day. Not so fun but I was glad to help out.  I went with gram to, as mom would say, get the goods. I came home with a new winter jacket thick enough to keep me warm in snow! Thanks mom! All in all, it was a good weekend.

Holy freakin' smokes!

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to not be able to do ANYTHING? Well let me tell you...it's NOT fun.  All day long I was calling people and trying to get something going and without fail, nothing would happen. Luckily Melanie came by and saved the day! We ended up starting a music video! Taylor Swift's song better than revenge was our lucky winner of the day and it ended up being TOTALLY AWESOME. We were about to go to a party at this girl's house and when we got there, there was almost nobody there.  They said that the cops had shown up about 15 minutes before that and told them to stop because they were being too loud and disturbing people. I have to say that I am glad I wasn't there but this is probably what gives college kids such a  bad name. We were just a bunch of LDS kids dancing and having fun :).  Oh well. I guess if I had had fun I would have defeated "someone's" purpose for me for the day. It was just meant to be I suppose. I am just excited for tomorrow. Hopefully I can have some interaction from everyone that had stuff to do today.  I feel like such a bum!!!! It's driving me absolutely insane! Anyways....I was still able to sleep in and finish watching a hilarious movie. I guess there can be a plus side!

Friends Friends Friends!

I would just like to say that the people at the institute are basically the most amazing people I have ever met!  I am so blessed to have them in my life and they are keeping me on my toes! It is so fun to me that there has not been one night this week that I have not been invited to do something! I thought tonight was going to be one seeing as I didn't have any plans and was just sitting at home but right as I was thinking that my phone rang and my friend Ryan who I don't hang out with a lot was like, "Hey, do you want to go hot tubbing?". I accepted and once again...I HAD PLANS!! I love that I have made so many friends that I don't always get invited by the same people, that I have tons of things to do, and that I have so many people that care about me!

At first I wasn't really sure why I was coming to NAU; of course for the school and my major (which I have found is more right for me than I thought it was), but I am realizing that my life is so blessed by all of the good examples around me. I had so many good friends in the valley but a change in the scenery and the age group has definitely done me good!  All of the return missionaries around me are making me so happy! I know what you are thinking, "Oh Chelsey, you are so boy crazy!" or "Don't go getting married on me!", but that's not really what I mean :).  I just love having people around me that have grown up and that go places because they want to and do things because they know it is the right thing! It is quite refreshing!

This week has gone by soooooo slow! I just can't wait for Sunday! Tomorrow night we are feeding the missionaries and I'm really excited for that too! The funny thing is that we have an FNA (Friday Night Activity) tomorrow night that the sisters have to be at so they are coming over at 8:00. They were telling me that they would just have a late lunch and that they would be fine. I sure hope so!

I would also like to say that I'm thankful for mom and grandma for taking care of their poor little college student and getting food for her :). It is MUCH APPRECIATED! I love you guys so much and I'm glad that you are my family. Where would I be without you?? :)))

It's November!

Seeing as it is November and I haven't posted since October 15th, I think it is safe to say that blogging is not my favorite thing! I like it, it just seems to me like, why sit and type about what's happening instead of just doing more things?? That is my justification. So October was a busy month, lots of things going on here and there, but I will just write the 10 most important things.
1. I got a calling as the YSA Publicity person. I am in charge of the posters, the fliers, and going to lots and lots of meetings!
2. I got to go to the Snowflake temple and do baptisms. That was my first time going anywhere but the Mesa temple and it was a really neat experience. For one, I went with my singles ward so everyone was much more mature about it. For two, it was really cool for me to be baptized and confirmed by my friends Edwin and Ryan. I'm not really sure why it was so cool but I think that it might have been because I now have friends that are endowed and worthy so it was awesome to see them in action. That was a wonderful experience.
3. I got to talk to Taya Headman a lot. It's always fun to check up on friends and see that they are doing so well and so much better than they were before. I'm so glad I have her as a friend.
4. For all of those who love facebook like me...I made a group with me and my three bestest friends so that we can all chat on the same window together! It was like we were all there except it was just a tad confusing keeping up with the conversation. (ps we have a scheduled 3 way call for Sunday :) )
5. HALLOWEEN! We  had a multi-stake YSA Halloween dance on the 29th of October. Me and two of my roommates dressed up as the three blind mice!  We were dressed in all black, had purple tutus, mouse ears, tails, and boots :) I will put up pictures when I get them from Summer. So maybe you are asking, "Aren't there four of you?" Let me answer that. Yes! But Breanne was down in the valley with her boyfriend. When she came back however, she had a RING! We are now down one roommate for  next year, seeing as Breanne will be getting married next summer :).
6. Yesterday I went to my academic advising session. I set up my classes for next semester and I can enroll on the 18th of November. It turns out that I am taking 19 credits!! Since I am only taking 14 this semester and I have a LOT of free time, I decided a little bit more work and a little bit less play would probably be a good thing!
7. We are having a Winter Formal on the 19th of November and it's a girl ask guy dance! I asked my friend Tanner Walz and I'm super excited to go! I get to go be in my cousin's group with her boyfriend and a couple other friends!
8. I am a party animal. WHILE keeping my grades up, (that was for you mom) I am at the institute almost every night. Monday night was FHE and we went bowling, last night we had class and then played pool and then watched a movie. Tonight we are going bowling for my ward! It is a blast! This is what the college experience is all about! My roommates don't go to as many things as me but that for sure doesn't stop me :)
9. Last week, all three of my roommates left town for the weekend! I was all alone. For those that know me, we know that doesn't work out well for Chelsey. Natalie and Britney spent the night both nights and we had so much fun just talking and giggling and being away from our other roommates.  Don't get me wrong we love them! But a change in scenery is always nice. haha
10. I will soon be employed! It has taken a while, but it is very worth it and I'm excited to have some extra money to spend that is not spending my grocery money!

Sorry this was a bit long, I just thought we would get back on track! Homework...HERE I COME!
