I'll Be Home for....A while :)

It has been a fun weekend with the fam :). I came home Wednesday night and got to go strait to WalMart and to pick up the kids from play practice. None of them knew I was coming that day because I came home a day early.  I walked in and all of them had to double take when they saw me. Lots of hugs :). After we got home, all traces of my earlier experience were gone.  I had another "panic attack" like I had the first day I moved up to flagstaff.  It wasn't as bad this time though,  because I knew what was happening I was able to keep myself in control.  I had the chance to call on the priesthood again and it still never ceases to amaze me. I texted my friend Ryan and told him that I needed a blessing.  He came with Cody and they drove me home (I was at school).  We searched for olive oil, finally found it, and I received a blessing. It was really amazing to me because I have never received a blessing from one of my friends before. I am just so glad that they are so worthy and willing to help me.  The next day I just woke up with a bad cold, all cramps, fevers, and everything else were gone.  I was truly blessed.  Thursday I drove Whitley to her Veteran's Day concert for choir and got to see all of my choir friends...so much fun! I left early and drove out to babysit for Amy's kids. The funniest thing happened.  I call out, "Where's Jarvis?" I hear from a room across the hall "In here!" I then call, "What are you doin'?" I hear "Cleaning up my poop." Those are words  nobody likes to hear. I walk into the bathroom and he is standing with his legs apart, picking up poop with toilet paper. That was fuuuuuun. Friday was a Psych/Work day; this means, I watched Psych while I worked! All day!  Saturday was a run errands and babysit the little ones while mom and dad were at the hospital day. Not so fun but I was glad to help out.  I went with gram to, as mom would say, get the goods. I came home with a new winter jacket thick enough to keep me warm in snow! Thanks mom! All in all, it was a good weekend.

Holy freakin' smokes!

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to not be able to do ANYTHING? Well let me tell you...it's NOT fun.  All day long I was calling people and trying to get something going and without fail, nothing would happen. Luckily Melanie came by and saved the day! We ended up starting a music video! Taylor Swift's song better than revenge was our lucky winner of the day and it ended up being TOTALLY AWESOME. We were about to go to a party at this girl's house and when we got there, there was almost nobody there.  They said that the cops had shown up about 15 minutes before that and told them to stop because they were being too loud and disturbing people. I have to say that I am glad I wasn't there but this is probably what gives college kids such a  bad name. We were just a bunch of LDS kids dancing and having fun :).  Oh well. I guess if I had had fun I would have defeated "someone's" purpose for me for the day. It was just meant to be I suppose. I am just excited for tomorrow. Hopefully I can have some interaction from everyone that had stuff to do today.  I feel like such a bum!!!! It's driving me absolutely insane! Anyways....I was still able to sleep in and finish watching a hilarious movie. I guess there can be a plus side!

Friends Friends Friends!

I would just like to say that the people at the institute are basically the most amazing people I have ever met!  I am so blessed to have them in my life and they are keeping me on my toes! It is so fun to me that there has not been one night this week that I have not been invited to do something! I thought tonight was going to be one seeing as I didn't have any plans and was just sitting at home but right as I was thinking that my phone rang and my friend Ryan who I don't hang out with a lot was like, "Hey, do you want to go hot tubbing?". I accepted and once again...I HAD PLANS!! I love that I have made so many friends that I don't always get invited by the same people, that I have tons of things to do, and that I have so many people that care about me!

At first I wasn't really sure why I was coming to NAU; of course for the school and my major (which I have found is more right for me than I thought it was), but I am realizing that my life is so blessed by all of the good examples around me. I had so many good friends in the valley but a change in the scenery and the age group has definitely done me good!  All of the return missionaries around me are making me so happy! I know what you are thinking, "Oh Chelsey, you are so boy crazy!" or "Don't go getting married on me!", but that's not really what I mean :).  I just love having people around me that have grown up and that go places because they want to and do things because they know it is the right thing! It is quite refreshing!

This week has gone by soooooo slow! I just can't wait for Sunday! Tomorrow night we are feeding the missionaries and I'm really excited for that too! The funny thing is that we have an FNA (Friday Night Activity) tomorrow night that the sisters have to be at so they are coming over at 8:00. They were telling me that they would just have a late lunch and that they would be fine. I sure hope so!

I would also like to say that I'm thankful for mom and grandma for taking care of their poor little college student and getting food for her :). It is MUCH APPRECIATED! I love you guys so much and I'm glad that you are my family. Where would I be without you?? :)))

It's November!

Seeing as it is November and I haven't posted since October 15th, I think it is safe to say that blogging is not my favorite thing! I like it, it just seems to me like, why sit and type about what's happening instead of just doing more things?? That is my justification. So October was a busy month, lots of things going on here and there, but I will just write the 10 most important things.
1. I got a calling as the YSA Publicity person. I am in charge of the posters, the fliers, and going to lots and lots of meetings!
2. I got to go to the Snowflake temple and do baptisms. That was my first time going anywhere but the Mesa temple and it was a really neat experience. For one, I went with my singles ward so everyone was much more mature about it. For two, it was really cool for me to be baptized and confirmed by my friends Edwin and Ryan. I'm not really sure why it was so cool but I think that it might have been because I now have friends that are endowed and worthy so it was awesome to see them in action. That was a wonderful experience.
3. I got to talk to Taya Headman a lot. It's always fun to check up on friends and see that they are doing so well and so much better than they were before. I'm so glad I have her as a friend.
4. For all of those who love facebook like me...I made a group with me and my three bestest friends so that we can all chat on the same window together! It was like we were all there except it was just a tad confusing keeping up with the conversation. (ps we have a scheduled 3 way call for Sunday :) )
5. HALLOWEEN! We  had a multi-stake YSA Halloween dance on the 29th of October. Me and two of my roommates dressed up as the three blind mice!  We were dressed in all black, had purple tutus, mouse ears, tails, and boots :) I will put up pictures when I get them from Summer. So maybe you are asking, "Aren't there four of you?" Let me answer that. Yes! But Breanne was down in the valley with her boyfriend. When she came back however, she had a RING! We are now down one roommate for  next year, seeing as Breanne will be getting married next summer :).
6. Yesterday I went to my academic advising session. I set up my classes for next semester and I can enroll on the 18th of November. It turns out that I am taking 19 credits!! Since I am only taking 14 this semester and I have a LOT of free time, I decided a little bit more work and a little bit less play would probably be a good thing!
7. We are having a Winter Formal on the 19th of November and it's a girl ask guy dance! I asked my friend Tanner Walz and I'm super excited to go! I get to go be in my cousin's group with her boyfriend and a couple other friends!
8. I am a party animal. WHILE keeping my grades up, (that was for you mom) I am at the institute almost every night. Monday night was FHE and we went bowling, last night we had class and then played pool and then watched a movie. Tonight we are going bowling for my ward! It is a blast! This is what the college experience is all about! My roommates don't go to as many things as me but that for sure doesn't stop me :)
9. Last week, all three of my roommates left town for the weekend! I was all alone. For those that know me, we know that doesn't work out well for Chelsey. Natalie and Britney spent the night both nights and we had so much fun just talking and giggling and being away from our other roommates.  Don't get me wrong we love them! But a change in scenery is always nice. haha
10. I will soon be employed! It has taken a while, but it is very worth it and I'm excited to have some extra money to spend that is not spending my grocery money!

Sorry this was a bit long, I just thought we would get back on track! Homework...HERE I COME!

Oct 15, 2010

Dum du da du Dum!

It has been a LOOOONG time :) Last night after institute choir I went over to Deanna, Natalie, Britney, and Kortni's house to watch the proposal. I did homework during the movie because I put it off before.  As soon as we were about to leave Arlene comes running back in the house saying, "Carsten, our cars are gone." Their cars had been towed because the people at their apartment complex told Deanna and them that their visitors were supposed to park in this one area. Well apparently not!!! It was 220 dollars per car that they  had to get back and they both are now out of money! I feel so BAD!!  Plus we didn't get home until like 1:30 and still had to finish my homework I couldn't do there! I emailed it to my teacher and asked her to please accept it and understand my situation! Then I didn't go to class :) I was WAY too tired after all of that to get up and go to a 9:10 class. Hopefully that all goes over well! A bunch of valley people are coming up this weekend so it's gonna be a crazy couple of days!

Oct 5, 2010

These are a few of my favorite things!

So as I was walking home in the rain after school today, I saw a pretty yellow leaf on the ground! I was like wow...I live somewhere where the leaves turn yellow and not because they died from the heat! It got me thinking...what other things do I love? So I went on a picture adventure! All around my house and my back porch! I found some of the things that make me most happy and I'm going to share them with you :) The formatting is going to be a little bit crazy because it doesn't make much sense to me how this all works but I am just in one of those days where everything is making me happy! Tonight we are throwing a very belated house-warming party...sorta. We are having a dessert  potluck and watching a movie after institute! Nothing huge just a way to get to know people better and to eat lots of yummy treats! I even made a batch of Reese's bars! I feel so homey! I also cleaned our ENTIRE place today inside and out...you know...got to make a good impression! Anyways...my favorite things :)
Decorating our cute little apartment with little Halloween decorations

The rain that makes puddles outside and makes the trees smell really good!

A clean sink with no dishes in it!
A vacuumed room, everything organized and put away!
Our chair before anybody has sat in it all nicely put together.
Our bathroom floor with...that's right! NO HAIR!!

Socks and Pajama Pants! Mmmm :)

A USED UMBRELLA!

My big compfy NAU jacket!

Making silly faces with the little ones :)

Conference!!!

Well it was definitely a successful weekend! Friday when I got here I just hung out at home and watched a movie. I was really exhausted from the drive and just wanted to chill.  I also began teaching Stephen the art of the Rubik's cube.  After a good night's sleep Mom and I decided to get some of our shopping done first thing in the morning. We went to Albertson's and bought 12 pounds of chicken, along with some more boxed dinners and smelly things. :)  We came home and jarred my chicken.  At one I went to the Re-opening of the Chandler Center for the Arts.  Firefly (aka McKenzie, Melanie, and Maddie) were performing there. It was a REALLY good show and I was so excited to get to see my best friend again!  After the show I went home and relaxed for a couple of hours until we decided to do the rest of our shopping before dinner.  We went to Wal Mart and Costco where I was able to buy a new box of rice krispie treats (mine was running out).  I also bought muffins for the girls and some pudding for Monet. ( I don't know why but she just really loves pudding!)  We drove to Red Robin to meet up with the wives after priesthood session.  We put in our seating request and then just waited. It was fun to see Amy, Laura, Grandma, Joy, and Kristi.  After I said hello I set off on my LOOOONG adventure to Wild Horse Pass Hotel for the Colgate Country Showdown!

Here is a little known (or well known...I just didn't know) fact about the I10.  If is says you are going on the I10 WEST you are really driving SOUTH. Whoever invented that, needed to learn their directions before they printed signs!!!!!!! After and quarter of a tank of gas and many frustrated phone calls, I arrived just 10 minutes before Firefly was supposed to perform!  The crowd was full of Firefly fans and they did AMAZING!!  We watched the other 5 contestants and then awaited the judges decision. (Just so you know what is going on...Firefly won the local competition for KNIX and went on to the state round.  This competition last night was the state competition and the winner moves on to Region in New Mexico)  After about 30 minutes of waiting...they brought all of the contestants out on stage and announced the winner. FIREFLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They did so good and they won 1,000 dollars!  Now in November they will go to New Mexico to keep moving up in the competition. I am so proud :)  After the show we all went to In-N-Out and then home! I'm so glad that McKenzie was down here at the same time as me and that I got to be there when they won.  I miss those girls sooo much!

This morning we woke up to bacon. That's right...LOTS of bacon. :)  After french toast, bacon, eggs, potatoes, fruit, sunny D, and Milk....our tummy's were full to the brim ready to watch conference.  It was a really amazing session and I am so blessed to be able to have so many ways to watch it from my own home.  After conference Mom and I made bread dough so I can take home some home-made bread. MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm....... :) :)  Mom is also making cinnamon rolls that I get to to take home, AND eat right now!! What an awesome mommy!!!!!!! In about 2 1/2 hours I will take off in the car on the way back to my rainy and cold flag! I'M SO EXCITED!! As much as I love it here, the fact that last night we got a dust storm and Flag got TONS of rain...makes me want to go back!!! Bring it on!!!

B.O.R.E.D.

Tonight has been a SLOW night.  I was going to go to dodge ball but I didn't have a ride. So I sat on my butt, ate some hamburger helper, and painted my fingernails.  With the recent lack of homework (I turned in my big essay), I don't have a lot to do.  Today at school was nothing eventful, just math class, and english. Funny Story. So today I get to my english class where our rough draft for our paper is due.  My friend Lisa was telling me how she was having a rough time putting together her essay.  I told her that all you have to do is pick an argument topic, choose a side, and research to support it.  It took about 5 seconds before she says, "Chelsey, this isn't the argument paper, it's the analysis paper..." I wrote the wrong paper. But luckily, the paper that I wrote was in between both so I can still use it. Fun morning. I also had lunch at the institute! Corn Dog 25c Gatorade 75c Reese's 50c! I say it is success!! Hopefully tomorrow will be a little bit more exciting than today!  I can't wait for Friday! McKenzie, Preston, Football game, Nails, How to Train your dragon, Summer, Dinner, Conference, Homemade bread, Chicken! Sounds like a good weekend to me!!!!

Done for the day...almost

It's really nice not having class until 12:45 on Tuesdays...except for the fact that I sleep in and then have a hard time getting anything done.  This morning I woke up at about 9:30 to a facebook text saying that some kid had sent me a message.  It turned into a really creepy conversation and I ended up blocking him within about 20 minutes.  I have never seen this kid before but he messaged me and told me I was cute so I said thanks and sent like two other messages back and forth and then it turned into are you single and we should get together. I wanted to cry it was so scary! It's done now.  haha After all of that I decided to make my pumpkin chocolate chip bread! Then it hit me that we didn't have any bread pans so I made muffins instead. Our whole house smells like fall now, all cinnamony and pumpkiny! Mmmmmm :) I must  get it from my mother. Me and Monet went to class and then walked home. It's funny how easily you adjust to new weather.  It is about 85 degrees and we almost passed out from heat exhaustion walking home. The only thing I can think of is because the sun is so much closer, it makes it feel a TON hotter then it actually is.

This weekend I am coming down to the valley for conference. I just couldn't miss out on my family tradition of  a big breakfast and cinnamon rolls afterwards. :) I also really wanted my conference notebook that I have been using since I was about 12.  It should be fun...I'm praying for rain! That would be SOOOO nice.

All that's left to do for the day is to do some homework and institute tonight.  It's getting really hard to leave home again once we get back.  Like tonight going to institute just seems like a long ways out of our way but I'm still excited to go. I love it.

PS last night we made hamburgers and homemade french fries. It was really yummy  but our apartment smelled like shrimp the whole rest of the night. Weird I know. We can DEFINITELY still cook without guys here...that is all I have to say!

To go to class...or not go to class?!

Well today I had my first encounter with ditching... :) I really didn't want to go to my physics class...it's right in the middle of the day and I was already home AND we needed to go shopping! So...I didn't go! haha I felt a little bad at first but when we looked at what we were learning and realized we already knew everything, it just seemed sorta pointless to go.  Instead we came home and waited until the maintenance guy fixed our toilet and we went grocery shopping! Now learning from my very educated mother, we did a little bit of coupon searching before we went and it actually saved us a TON of money! We went to Wal Mart, Basha's, Fry's, and Safeway! Our refrigerator is now full of fresh food and delicious snacks that we were all out of!
Me and Monet were talking and we realized that we feel like grown ups! It was so fun for us to make our shopping list, clip our coupons (Which Monet said she didn't think she would EVER do), and took off on our journey! It is a lot of fun and it's good practice.

Funny story. So as I'm sitting here typing this I get a text from Monet that says, "You like what you see?! ;)"  It's a little inside joke of ours and when you say it you do a little hip thrusting and bounce around! I told her that I LOVE it! She asked me where I was and I told her in my room. Two minutes later my door opens and there is Monet standing in the doorway doing her little thing! I started laughing so hard that it basically woke Breanne up! She was a little confused to say the least! Ah fun with roommates! I would not trade them for anything they are awesome!

Tonight we had Hawaiian haystacks for dinner! Well...we only had rice, the chicken stuff and pineapple but it was still delicious! And after dinner, we still had all of these sodas from labor day weekend that we just couldn't get rid of so, today when we went shopping we bought vanilla ice cream and tonight we had root beer  floats while watching 13 going on 30. All in all it was a pretty amazing day!  I love the bonding time me and Monet get on our walks home from school too. Like today, we rode my bike down the hill....yes I said we! For the past week every time we come home from school, on the hill down from the entrance of our apartment complex, Monet pedals and I balance on the handle bars! We have it down so good! Except today she almost hit a car...but that's all! haha Good times!

Sep 19, 2010

Good Weekend :)

What a great couple of days! Friday after class Me, Monet, and Maddy set out on our adventure of a surprise weekend to the valley! We drove for like 3 hours and then ended up at the Superstition Mall (thanks to grandma) walking into Charlotte Russe with a suitcase, two pillows, and a huge backpack,  Mom turns around, sees me, and recognized me within a second and a half. I went and gave her a hug and we went shopping! Grandma took me to dinner (FOOD COURT!) and I ate my first fresh food in about a month! It was delicious :)  I love Paradise Bakery! When I got home I woke up Bo because I wanted to see him and this is how the conversation went:
Me: Bo wake up, open your eyes
Bo: no
Me: Do you know who this is?
Bo:...
Me: Do you know who is talking to you?
Bo: Chelsey...
Me: Did you know I'm at your house right now?
Bo: No you're not...
Me: Yes I am open your eyes!
Bo: No... (rolls over and goes back to sleep!)
He didn't even remember in the morning that I did it! But he was very excited to see me :)
This was Katy's reaction. All of the little kids had slept in the loft the night before so I slept in Brooklyn's bed. When Katy woke up and saw two people in the beds and Brooklyn in the loft, she says to Whitley who is awake...
Katy: Whitley, right now...there is someone in your room.
Whitley: Who is it?>
Katy: ...I don't know.
Whitley then proceeded to tell her it was me and take her in to give me a hug. All of the other kids followed by opening the door, spouting out "Oh my gosh!" or "What the heck?!"

Saturday I went to the rec center with Kianna, Preston, and Dallon. We rock climbed and played Walley-Ball which was SO STINKIN' FUN!  We then went to Bahama Bucks because Preston had never been and we were hot and sweaty! When I got home I got ready and went to the movies with gram.  On the way there I stopped at the Merchants and talked to them for a while; while making McKenzie VERY jealous that I got to see her family and she didn't!  After the movie we went back to grandma's house and talked until I realized I had early church and had to go home! After checking in with mom...(Which was weird) I passed out in my not-so-comfortable bed :)

Sunday was good. Mom made special breakfast for me and provided me with fruits and vegetables! I didn't realize it was going to be harder to leave the second time...but it was. I was in tears, Mom was in tears, and Katy and Bo almost were too. It was really sad and I miss them already.  School again tomorrow...Back to reality!

Sep 15, 2010

Wednesday, oh Wednesday!

Wednesday is such a weird day of the week! Like really. It's right in the middle and there is really no point.  Today I had class from 9:10 to 9:35 and then not again until 1:50.  I had so much homework today that I really just did homework from the time I got home until the time I had to leave again.  We finally figured out bill pay for mom and the cell phone too! It has all in all been a productive day! There is dodge-ball tonight but as of right now I don't have a ride! I really want to go though! I seriously LOVE institute! I am there just about every single night whether for class or just to hang out with all of my super awesome new friends!
Last night I went to play volleyball after our Book of Mormon class but the competition got a little too intense for me! So....I went and decided to do swing dancing instead! My friend Ryan was teaching us how to do all of these cool dance moves and lifts and turns and stuff!

Sooooo much fun!!!!

I almost died...But seriously, it was so stinkin' fun!  I seriously love institute!

This week is going to be so fun! I just love it :) college life is the BEST!!!!!
And in the words of Monet...That is all!

Sep 12, 2010

It's been a while!

This weekend has been so crazy! Friday after school the institute planned a Lava Tubes trip! We went to the institute building and we rode with our friend Kelly! It was such a long drive and we totally got lost going the wrong direction but we made it there. We hiked in and started walking when I ran into...Deanna Hardy! My sweet cousin! She is actually in my ward which is so exciting! We came home and Tlaloc came over and we watched When in Rome. I fell asleep in the middle of the movie. Saturday morning we woke up and did homework until we left to get on the hot and sweaty on the bus to ASU!! We checked in and began our journey. :) Summer taught me the rubix cube and I practiced until we got there! I'm getting pretty good let me tell you! We got to ASU at about 3:20 and were allowed off the bus at 4:20..:/ We went to In-N-Out and shoved our faces full of delicious burgers! At 7:00 I met up with my date and the fun began! We watched the whole game from the very top row of the stadium. It was VERY fun. We walked back to In-N-Out and got shakes and walked back! The bus left at midnight and we got home at about 2:45! We slept in until 10:30 and ate eggs and toast for breakfast! Church at one in our new ward. We left after sunday school so we could be home when my parents stopped by. The funniest part was this set of text messages...
Mom-we are in town
Me- Ok!
Mom- Can we use your bathrooms?
Me- Yes!!
AHahahahaha great times. They came, used our bathrooms, and left haha. We ate a HUGE dinner of mashed potatoes, fried chicken, corn, beans, gravy, lemonade...the works! Then we all passed out watching little rascals. Pretty intense three days! Institute in the morning and classes begin again!

Sep 6, 2010

Labor day fun!

So today we had a crazy day! We had a house full of people all day! Zach, Riley, Sirrinna, Justis, Whitley, Carsten, and Jack plus all of us four girls had breakfast this morning! Waffles, bacon and sausage! What sweet boys to cook for us. Then at about lunch time we went to Walnut Canyon and had a picnic. It was an easy hike and two of us (myself and Riley) went barefoot the whole way! There were all of these cool Indian cave dwellings and things that you could get in and explore; it was really neat! The boys even climbed somewhere they weren't supposed to ;)  We came home, and Whitley went home! We all went swimming and then out to lunch. After that, pretty much everyone crashed! Everyone just left about half an hour ago and we have put our house back together, done the dishes, and just chilled for a little bit! It feels so nice! School again tomorrow, back to reality! I'll put the pictures up tomorrow when we find the cameras! Night!

College life

I am going to have some of the buffest legs you will ever see! The hill outside my apartment is well, KILLER! Riding down? Not hard at all. Quite fun actually! Riding up? Not possible. We have to walk our bikes up the hill!! But hey, once you get to the top and you get to go sit on the couch in your cool apartment, it's all worth it! AND I'm going to be a tan beast because we are outside so much! I have a tan line already from one day. Yesterday we all attended our classes and were done by like 2:00. We came home, did some homework, and proceeded to walk all over our little area of flagstaff going to two different banks and Wendy's! We got home, Monet and Breanne went to the institute barbecue and Summer and I stayed  home to do homework. When Breanne and Monet got home they had brought two friends! We rented Avatar and we watched it! So much fun! I love making new friends!! Not much going on around here today, everyone is just kind of doing their own thing! About to go meet Monet for lunch! What a life :)

First day of school! First day of school!

I DID IT!!!! I MADE IT THROUGH!!!! Today was my first day as a student at NAU! I went to 3 classes and did so much exercising I will hurt really bad tomorrow! This morning I woke up and made eggs and toast and got all ready! Since my hair was curled yesterday I had to curl it again today; which I don't even know why I did because it was flat by the time I got to school because of all the wind! I walked to my English 105 class first! It took me about 25 minutes to walk to school and get to class. We were let out early because it's the first day and really there is not much to talk about! I walked home after meeting up with Monet to chat for a minute and was home until about 1 when I rode Summer's bike back to school to eat lunch with Monet. I had macaroni and cheese in my backpack, along with pudding cups, salt and pepper, and a fork and spoon for each of us! We sat at a table in the math building to eat and then went to our math 150 class. That is going to be the most boring class ever but we will somehow figure out how to make it fun! We "rode" home after class. (I say that because Monet's bike was being dumb so we walked our bikes half way)
I was home for all of 30 minutes before I got to ride back again and go to my English 130 class! I'm actually really excited about that one because it's a lot of literature and reading. I love reading. And now that I will have a reason to I won't feel like I am wasting time.
After a really long ride home I plopped down on my sore butt on the couch and just SAT THERE! That could not last too long however because we had to eat dinner and leave before 7 so we could get to FHE on time! We got there and had a little lesson and then played games! I am so excited to be in such a fun ward where everyone is super nice to everyone else! We came home and Monet and Summer went and worked out while Breanne did homework and I the slacker child of the bunch sat and watched TV. Now, I didn't have any homework and I had had my WHOLE workout for the day so I told myself I deserved it! All in all it's been a crazy day but nothing as scary as I thought it would be! Go COLLEGE!!!!!!! Tomorrow is another first day because most of us don't have any of the same classes tomorrow! Especially me who only has one class tomorrow at 12:45. Nice huh?? I think so!
Sorry this post is so long but it's been an exciting day! Now we just have to get through this week so we can have a three day weekend! And Whitley and all our friends from the valley are coming up!

Good day!

Aug 29, 2010

Barely got kissed

Church was really awesome today! It was much better since the wards were split into University first, second, and third wards.  We got to take our pictures and listen to the bishop! It was our first time in the gospel principles class and we met some other people too. Our ward is super nice.  We left a little early from church so we could come home, change, and head to the job fair! We handed in applications at a few different places.
When we got home from the job fair we decided to watch pride and prejudice. I really liked it! Except for the fact that the entire movie...all I wanted was for Elizabeth to kiss Mr. Darcey and live happily ever after! But then right when we thought they were gonna kiss, they DIDN'T!! I was so upset! We waited until the VERY LAST SCENE when Mr. Darcey finally kissed her...on the forehead, on the ear, on the cheek, on the nose, on the chin, AND THE LIPS!!!!
So no I didn't get kissed...but Lizzy did :)

School starts tomorrow!! While we are all very excited it is also getting a little nerve wracking! Everyone is very excited! And we figured out that me and Monet get to have lunch every single day and the same class every day after lunch! We also figured out that we want to take a zumba class! Party!

So bored!

It's really time for school to start! We just sit at home all day and watch TV and eat!
Today I went to lunch with the amazing Korey!! It was so awesome! We went to this restaurant called Big Foot's and it's in the middle of a clothes store! What an adventure! We sat there and talked for like 2 hours just about everything! I was so excited to get to talk to her; I haven't talked to her since graduation so it was fun to catch up. We are going to the job fair tomorrow afternoon after church! We all need money!

Another funny thing we see in Flagstaff; a HUGE biker man on this bike where his hands were a good 6 inches above his head! This town is so entertaining!

Two men and a bed

Today was fun! We went to Home Depot to get some wood and nails and wood glue to make Summer's makeshift trundle bed. We also got a purple pot and some flowers! After we checked out that we really couldn't carry everything home, wood, pot, flowers,  nails, mirror...so we borrowed a cart! We are going to take it back but it was very useful! We got home and the cable guy came and did a MUCH better job and installing and explaining than the last guy.  We went to the bank, staples, and Wal Mart and came home. We walked all the way to campus to eat at the free BBQ which ended up being $5 and we didn't' have money.  So we walked all the way back, got our Arby's coupons, and went and ate curly fries!
When we got back we decided to put together summers bed.  What we didn't realize is that we bought particle wood and really thick nails which means..cracks and lots of wood glue! After nailing things in for about 20 minutes while Breanne was gathering dirt for our pot, she comes over and says, "Guys....everyone above us is staring down at us..." We look up and there are four heads; two on the second floor and two on the third.  They are all looking down and laughing at us! They told us later that they were playing 'guess what they are hammering'.  We asked the guys on the third floor (Ian and Kenny) to come and help us. They came down and they smelled like beer but they were super nice! They came in and played wackee 6 with us and then left.  All in all, we have a bed stuck together with glue and probably stuck on the porch, as well as a really interesting night with our neighbors! They told us though that when the bed fell apart they would help us make a new one with good tools if we upgraded to the 99 cent wood instead of the 51 cent scrap wood that we bought. :)  We also ran into that same crazy car again at Wal Mart today!

A Day with no end!

It's been a CRAZY day! It was fun waking up with all four girls here!  We all got up, organized the new bedroom, and ate cereal!  We went to campus and got all of our financial aid and our job applications sorted out! Good news! Another check for 1700 dollars will be coming in the mail! As well as 3000 dollars in Federal work study money!  After all of that was sorted out we started out on our grocery shopping!
1. Summer gets her new laptop!
2. Off to Fry's to get $1.88 hamburger to last us a lifetime...
3. We went to Wal Mart to get some school supplies and all of our cleaning supplies!
(and lots of snacks)
4. Bashas! Strawberries and frozen pizza! Oh yes and peaches!
5. Home... Ugh!
We were so tired when we got home that we all just sat on the bed while Breanne swam laps! Crazy!

While we were at Best Buy, however, we were parked next to this car that well...words cannot describe!  Only pictures can...

Tonight we are going to watch a movie and relax! Our cable guy is coming tomorrow and then we should be all set! Bring it on school!

Early Morning Hours... Sort Of

Breezy here, it's about 9:00am with no signs of life coming from Chelsey, Monet, or Summer. I'm guessing they all stayed up pretty late; I turned in around 10pm.

The other day Chelsy and I were talking about how weird it was to come from homes where there is a constant rumble of noise to an apartment where we have to turn on fans or the dryer because it's too quiet for us. Right now is one of those times, LOL.

Well, this is my first post on a blog EVER so l hope it looks okay, I have no idea how this whole blogging thing works out. With new roommates comes new experiences I guess. :)

I'm off to ride my bike around campus to find the mysterious math building; wish me luck!

The Girls are Here!

Summer and Monet showed up today and after about 4 trips to Wal Mart, some wood glue, and a lot of sweat, we are ALL MOVED IN!  We finally have our desired couch cover, our cute decorations in the living room, the girls beds set up, and our movie/pizza/birthday party to break in the place!  It's so awesome that we have such good and helpful friends like Zach and Riley to help move all the heavy stuff and to do the hammering! (except Summer did that pretty well herself) :)
Tomorrow is day two of errands! And Summer says we are all going to work out...we'll see how that goes! Altogether though, we are about to set out on the biggest adventure of our lives yet! It's crazy! And we are loving it!
